This cross-industry alliance marks Taiwan's first joint investment by the tech and pharmaceutical sectors in AI-powered drug development, realizing a cross-disciplinary integration of Taiwan's biotech and ICT industries. The funding will accelerate the deployment and international expansion of Vernus AI’s drug manufacturing technology. In addition, Vernus Team was selected in the top 30 teams in the Entrepreneurship Competition organized by the National Development Council, meaning Vernus’ development has been highly recognized.
ReAIX Platform: A Perfect Integration of AI, Quantum Computing, and Physical Simulation
Founded in the second half of 2025, Vernus AI was co-founded by Dr. Jimmy Yen-Chu Lin , former CEO of Insilico Medicine Taiwan, along with Gonçalo Bernardes, the Professor from the University of Cambridge and Tiago Rodrigues, the Associate Professor from the University of Lisbon. The company aims to be a leader in AI and quantum computing for the pharmaceutical industry, focusing on innovating drug manufacturing processes. To achieve a seamless transition from Lab Scale to Manufacture Scale, the company employs a technical path that integrates AI Agents (using multi-modal LLMs) with physical simulation systems. The AI Agent serves as the "brain" of the ReAIX platform, fine-tuned with expert-selected scientific data to act as a senior process scientist that efficiently integrates digital tools in the pharmaceutical process. Physical simulation optimizes key physical parameters such as fluid dynamics to ensure precision and stability during process scale-up. Furthermore, through physical emulation combined with chemical and biological kinetic simulations, high-quality synthetic data is continuously produced to form a closed-loop system for training AI models.
